KARACHI: A month back, Pakistan raised objections against the Bill that was meant to protect the rights of minorities in Pakistan. Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony raised several objections to the Bill that was drafted by the Federal Ministry of Human Rights. The Bill was presented back in October 2021, during the Parliamentary Committee’s meeting, whose agenda was to protect minorities from forced conversions. Chairperson Senator Liaqat Khan Tarakai had dismissed the draft of The Prohibition of Forced Conversions Act 2021 (the Bill) without even giving it a hearing. Not that the lawmakers were so callous in…
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday said his party was “exploring legal response” to allegations made by PTI Chairman Imran Khan a day ago that PPP co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari was plotting a “Plan C” with the aid of a terrorist outfit to assassinate Imran. In an explosive claim in a televised address on Friday, Imran said: “Now they have made a plan C and Zardari is behind it. He has unlimited corrupt money […] the money he loots from the Sindh government is used in elections, to buy MPAs […] whether it is the elections…
Kathmandu: Various contradicting and diverging narratives are being floated for “public consumption” by some interested political quarters both within and without over the formation of the new government under the command of Delhi’s “good boy” Prachanda aka Pushpa Kamal Dahal. The recognized and the declared ‘disinformation laboratory’ is close to Nepal’s border in the South. It is no longer a secret. However, Delhi now takes its “nourished old boy” as China’s “kid” and fears that during his Premiership, China will gulp Nepal. Shielding the “Delhi’s naughty boy’ to blame China? Some logics floated are not only ridiculous but horrible as…

Pakistan is currently reeling from economic distress amid fast-depleting foreign exchange reserves, weakening rupee, and worsening macroeconomic cues. “We will run out of healthcare equipment in a matter of weeks. Medical labs are also in short supply. Moreover, there is also a decline of life-saving drugs,” Dr Tipu Sultan told a private…

Islamabad, Pakistan – Armed group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has warned the country’s main ruling parties of “concrete action” against their top leadership in the government for “declaring war” against it. A statement released by the TTP – also known as Pakistani Taliban for its ideological affinity with the Taliban in neighboring Afghanistan – on Wednesday explicitly named Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Sharif is the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) which along with Bhutto Zardari’s Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) are the main coalition partners in the government. “For a long time, TTP has not…
