On February 15, 2023, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Alexei Miller, Chairman of the PJSC Gazprom Management Committee.

Expressing sincere gratitude for his time, the guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the head of state. At the same time, the interest of the largest energy company of the Russian Federation in mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan was confirmed.

Welcoming the head of PJSC Gazprom, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that his current visit to our country would help strengthen productive cooperation in the fuel and energy sector and, in general, serve to further expand the multifaceted Turkmen-Russian ties. Stressing that the development of strategic partnership with the Russian Federation is one of the priority vectors of the foreign policy of Turkmenistan, the head of state conveyed greetings and best wishes to the President of Russia.

It was stated that at present, thanks to mutual efforts, interstate interaction is being filled with new content across its entire spectrum. In this context, an important place is given to cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, where a lot of experience has been accumulated and there is a solid potential. At the same time, it was noted that PJSC Gazprom is a long-term partner of Turkmenistan, with which strong ties have been established.

It was emphasized that our country, having vast reserves of natural resources, is aimed at the progressive development of long-term cooperation with all interested foreign partners. The key vectors here are the modernization of oil and gas enterprises, increasing the efficiency of the mining and processing sectors, diversifying energy exports, and implementing joint projects.

Speaking of this, the head of Turkmenistan noted that there are good prospects for further deepening bilateral cooperation. In this context, approaches to the optimal implementation of the existing cooperation potential were discussed.

At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Board of PJSC Gazprom Alexey Miller expressed confidence in the successful continuation of the productive Turkmen-Russian partnership in the energy sector, built on a mutually beneficial long-term basis and aimed at concrete results.
