Rajinikanth’s Movie ‘jailer’ a Resounding Success, Action Thriller Crosses Rs 500 Cr Worldwide

Superstar Rajinikanth is back with a bang!

‘Jailer’, his comeback film is breaking records left, right, and centre!

The action-thriller movie has crossed the Rs 575 crore mark at the overseas box-office.

Box-office tracker Manobala Vijayabalan took to Twitter to break the news. “CROSSES 575 cr gross mark in just 15 days. Second FASTEST to achieve this feat after #2Point0 which took just 9 days.” The movie reportedly made Rs 450 crore on its first weekend, Rs 124 crore on its second, and Rs 7.67 crore on its third.

The movie has also performed phenomenally well domestically. As per a report shared by the Indian film trade tracking portal Sacnilk.com, the movie has minted an impressive Rs 346.75 crore. In Karnataka, the Rajinikanth-starrer minted a whopping Rs 58 crore, while in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, it collected Rs 71 and Rs 157 crore respectively. In Kerala, the action extravaganza amassed about Rs 13 crore.

About ‘Jailer’

Directed by Tamil director Nelson, ‘Jailer’ is a black comedy action film. The movie marks the return of Rajinikanth to the silver screen after two years. The movie boasts a spectacular cast consisting of Jackie Shroff, Shiva Rajkumar, Tamanaah Bhatia, Vasanth Ravi, and Ramya Krishnan. Malayalam superstar Mohanlal also makes a special appearance.

The movie proved to be a strong performer at the box-office from day one, collecting Rs 52 crore domestically and Rs 72 crore worldwide.
